Symmetry 101 Tutorial

Everyone has a dominant side of their body. It is also true in your face. 

If you look closely you will notice one eye may be smaller than the other or one side of your lips may be be higher. A good photographer knows how to work with lighting to create a symmetric appearance. 

You can work with your makeup to create the same illusion. Here are some tips to make your asymmetrical face into a symmetrical one!

Contouring and Highlighting -

By contouring your cheek bones you can bring your eyes up or down. Contouring higher on your cheeks will shorten the distance between your eyes and cheek bones and vice versa. Beware not to contour too high on your cheek bones. You want a natural look.

Eye Brows -

If one eye is smaller then the other try plucking your eye brows to create the same size brow bone. If you use this tactic you may want to have a professional wax for you. You don't want to make the mistake of over plucking or making a more uneven look.

Eye Shadow -

To be sure you do not over extend your eye shadow. Following your bottom water line up to the end of your eyebrow gives you a great guide. Your eye shadow should bring your eyes up.

Focus on your good features -

Instead of focusing on uneven features highlight your good features! If you have beautiful lips, add color to them. If you have beautiful eyes draw attention to them.

Remember, most people do not notice asymmetrical features. We are our own worst judges!

Ready | Set | Hollywood!

We have been planning our advertising campaign photo shoot for months. We had a dress designed, rented a studio and props, and hired a team of professionals to pull the concept together.

Our idea was to create a Hollywood Red Carpet event. Obviously, not being in Hollywood made it difficult. With hiring the best in the industry, we were able to pull off the project.

Fashion First!

We brought Charlotte Davis and her team a photo from a red carpet event and ask her to recreate a designer dress. Charlotte hand stitched each jewel on the top part of the dress. She made a full feather short/long skirt with amazing detailed touches throughout the dress. Charlotte's use of different fabrics added so much dimension and visual eye candy!
